Objectives for the week of November 5

Reading- As we continue looking at expository text, students will focus on facts and opinions. They can be tricky, and we will investigate the subtle differences. There will be a quiz on Friday.

Writing- We will finish our first expository piece about a special place by editing, revising and publishing this week. We will also be showing off our knowledge of expository writing on a District Assessment on Wednesday.

Math – This week students will be extending their knowledge of multiplication. They will be learning new methods and strategies for solving problems involving 2-digit times 2-digit numbers as well as how to recognize when to multiply in a Story Problem. We will also review for the District Assessment on Monday and Take the Assessment on Tuesday. This will help us to know what the students have mastered since the beginning of the school year.

Science – This week students will continue our unit on forms of energy by exploring electrical circuits. Students will learn how electricity travels through different kinds of circuits.

Social Studies – We will continue talking about the first settlers of Texas. The students will continue to review their vocabulary as we review for a quiz on Thursday.
