Objectives for the Week of April 15

Reading- It is Reading Detective time! Detectives look for clues and so do our fourth graders. We will be using reading passages to get promoted all the way to General! Two of the reading passages will be taken as grades this week.

Writing- Students will be continuing to work on their own version of fairy tale. They will add events to their stories and make sure they mirrored the story correctly with their own creative twist.

Math – Students will continue to review for the STAAR test. We will work on all fraction, decimal, and geometry concepts learned this year. We will be offering quality tickets for extra Motivation Math pages done. Please do not have your kiddos do pages 41, 55, 204, 205, 161, 162, 127, 136, 137, 15, 114, 146, 136, 137, 183, & 174. We will complete these in class for practice and some for homework. Any practice will be good practice!

Science – We will be continuing our unit on Atmosphere and Weather. Students will measure and record changes in weather and make predictions using weather maps and symbols. Students will draw and illustrate the water cycle and explain the role of the sun as a source of energy.

Social Studies – We will be finishing up our Cattle Log books. Students will write from the point of view of a cowhand on the trail. This will be taken as a SS and a writing grade. The kids know what is expected of their books and the rubrics have been discussed. There is also a SS vocabulary quiz on Wednesday!
